I love Nashville

and the somewhat slower pace of life here, especially out in the country where I live. And who doesn’t love to write about places they love (like Tennessee, Nashville, and even Texas)? Like the songs before this, “Ville of Nash” shares parts of my personal life in every line. This one is actually the favorite of my kids and many friends and the last of three songs produced by Chris Utley of Benchmark Sound for my songwriting demo.

It’s just a fun, crowd song that tends to get stuck in your head.

I hope you enjoy it and if so, please SHARE it and COMMENT with your reaction. Also, check out the lyrics below the audio track.

On Wednesday, I’ll share the story behind writing this song in a “behind the music” post and on Friday, I have an exciting announcement related to it!

I’m Bethesda not Brentwood, much less Belle Meade
I’m a quiet country boy in spite of everything you read
I’m walking slow in a world of fast
Taking my horse to the truck to the debt-free jet
In the Ville of Nash

Nashville, burg, city, my ten-horse town
Nashville, ain’t nothing like her sound

Don’t need no entourage, no limousine, no Prada shades
Just give me my boots, my long gun, and my pies homemade
My hiding place for my wads of cash
Is my gun safe in my horse barn
In the Ville of Nash

Nashville, burg, city, my ten-horse town
Nashville, ain’t nothing like her sound

So to all who hate on me
Just don’t wait on me

Cause I’m going to
Nashville, burg, city, my ten-horse town
I’ll be in
Nashville, ain’t nothing like her sound
I’m singing in
Nashville
It’s a party in
Nashville
